It’s estimated that over 1.7 billion websites exist – Yes 1.7 BILLION and GROWING (and actually, shrinking too…) In actual fact, this number fluctuates on the daily. Websites are launched and deactivated everyday.
Despite this, it’s still clear… the world wide web is HUGE and with over 7.5 billion people in the world, as you can imagine, there are a lot of online interactions.
By the time you’re done reading this blog… that number will go up.
By the time the day is over… that number will go up.
By the time you wake up in the morning… that number will go up.
…and by the time you launch your website… well you get the gist.
BUT, rest assured, it’s not all doom and gloom.
Introducing SEO
*Basically, a fancy term used to describe the process of fine-tuning the content (words, videos, blogs and alike) on your website in order for Google to show it towards the top of the page when someone searches for something.
So, what does this mean for you?
A website with good SEO has the power to attract and drive traffic that has the potential to grow your business for years to come.
Think of your SEO presence as your site’s “Googleability.” You may have just created a beautiful website – well-designed, clean with a super effective user experience. However, if Google’s search engine can’t read your website the pages that you’ve put so much hard work into may not even be seen!
That’s where we come in.
We can give your website a full SEO audit and introduce small changes to your site to ensure that you start to get ‘seen’.
It won’t happen overnight… but it will happen.
Unfortunately, your website won’t necessarily show up on Google immediately (I know, we wish it did too). Did you know it can typically take up to four weeks for it to start to show up in search engine results. And, even moreso, this is also means it won’t zoom up to #1 on Google either (*hearts breaking everywhere*). Search engine indexes can be somewhat slow. So sit tight.
So the question still begs “How can I get my website #1 on Google??”
If you truly want to finally rank #1 on google… then building a website is only the beginning.
You know the saying ‘No hard work goes unnoticed’? … well we hate to say it BUT your mum was right when she told you this. When it comes to websites (and Google’s relentless and never-ending algorithm updates*), effort directly correlates to results.
Simply put – the more effort you put into your website on a consistent basis, the better the ongoing result.
*Psst… FYI a Google Algorithm is just another fancy way of naming the complex system used to retrieve data from Google’s search index and how this then delivers the best possible results for a Google search.
Content, content, content
As said by Bill Gates, a prediction made in 1996 – and still as, if not even more relevant today…
BUT WHY? Because to put it plainly, a Google user (like yourself) is happiest when they find the result that best serves their needs or question in the best way.
Let’s break it down.
- When you google “easy and healthy homemade lasagne” Google focuses on delivering you what Google recognises as the best recipe for homemade lasagne (that takes a short amount of time and boasts a healthy nature) on THE ENTIRE WORLD WIDE WEB.
- Google doesn’t simply look for the ‘healthiest recipe’, the ‘easiest recipe’ or even spit out an assortment of online restaurants for lasagne. It aims to give you exactly what you searched for. Google tries to provide you with the best result possible by directing you to the most relevant content it can find.
- What does this mean for you? It means that your (and our) #1 job to have an effective SEO presence is to produce quality and relevant content using informed key words and considering your users search intentions.
As discussed earlier, Good results come from effort. SEO is no different.
Still not convinced? We’ve said it before, in fact we’ve said it twice before.
